And Now I Know Where I Stand...

The other morning as I was helping my youngest urchin get primped for the day I was overcome by the urge to smother her cheeks with kisses. She is just the yummiest kid in town some days. In the midst of this fest of affection, I mentioned, "Bailey - I just love you so very much!"

She giggled, patted my head and said, "Mommiah - I yuv yightnig the keen."

For those who need an interpreter: Mommy I love Lightning McQueen.

Well, at least she was upfront and didn't string me along...

Pass it on...

After marathon errand running today where Bailey was kept content with scads of whole grain snack action, we managed to be fifteen minutes early to preschool pickup. Amazing!

As we sat in the quiet car and enjoyed the pretty weather I heard a -- hmmm how can I put this delicately -- toot. I glanced over at my sweet girl and she said, "Mommiah, I made bubbles!"

Teehee.

Look Out Ladies...

I just had the most interesting chat with my boy while getting him settled in his room for quiet time. We read our usual pair of books and started to talk a bit. Of course, we were have a nice snuggle as well and I mentioned how he was growing up and whatever will I do about that? He looked over at me with those big eyes of his and assured me he would still be my friend. I explained that I would always be his Mama and he would always be my son to which he replied, "Will you still be my sweetheart?"

Naturally we needed to discuss that Daddy and I were already sweethearts but that when he was older he could find somebody special and that hopefully I would get to be buddies with his sweetheart. That little convo seemed to establish that a married lady isn't available to be his sweetheart since his next question was, "Mommy can you find me an unmarried lady to be my sweetheart? I need an unmarried lady."

I assured him that he would grow older and find a special someone thinking that would be the end of it. Silly me... My perseverent lad kept on with this doosy of a question, "But Mommy, who will grow my baby for me?"

So look out world. H is shopping for a Baby Mama.....
