n "moderate" a discussion of his truck book while I attempted to sneak in a line or two of actual text. This is an ongoing parental dilemna for me since as an educator I love to see him 'interact with text' - such a good reader behavior you know. But as a human in my own right, I'd sometimes like to complete a sentence sans interruption. What a quandry. Fortunately for all involved, the interruptions are gems just often enough to keep me sane and willing to indulge my curious lad. Today as we got to the Tow Truck page Hayden unleashed his preschool wisdom big time.
"Mommy, this is a tow truck. But it does NOT have toes. It is not that kind of tow truck. It is a tow truck that PULLS things. That is it's job. Do you understand?"
It is a fortunate thing indeed that I have a Hayden handy to shed light on the mysteries of the world!
