The Third Time is Charming

On February 8th, of this year Bailey decided to go ahead and turn three on us. This year we chose to treat her big day much like a national holiday and we celebrated on the 6th since it just worked better. Someday Bailey will be old enough to have an opinion about this - all the more reason to mix things up while we can! She started off her big day (observed) with a dance party.
Then it was time for a sneak peek at the highly requested Bambi cake. This winter Miss B went through a hefty Bambi phase. We spent untold amounts of time watching Bambi, reading Bambi, coloring pictures of Bambi, listening to music from the movie and much, much more.Another thing we discovered in the past year or so was that our little carnivore is a big fan of barbeque ribs. BIG fan. If you are in the know, you don't ever take the last rib with this little chicklet in the vacinity. So in honor of our gal, we arranged for a little rib feast.
Once the BBQ festival was wrapped up it was time for cake! Big Bro wanted to help out with the singing and various cake oriented festivities.

The frosting had an oddly numbing effect on the birthday girl.
Still in the midst of a major lego phase, H took it upon himself to craft a lego cake for his dear sis complete with three red blocks on top for candles. This led to yet another cake presentation for the birthday girl.
We worked off our respective sugar highs with a bit of gift opening. Bailey wasted no time recruiting Daddy to read her new Ariel book.
The Bambi Rug from my folks was a big hit - wonder why?
This year we drummed up a Loving Family dollhouse for our growing girl. She had scads of fun arranging furniture while her hands were adorned with her new dressup gloves. Hope the new digs passed the white glove test!
In true Hayden fashion, big bro was compelled to investigate all new colorful plastic in the house and we captured him peeking through the balcony doors. Silly boy!
How amazing that we have now had 3.5 years of adventure with Princess Busybee. Can't wait to see what the next years bring!
