Last week I had a rip roaring good time coaxing the Mini's upstairs for naps. To his credit, Hayden actually started out fabulously. He marched himself right upstairs to choose a potty so that Bailey and I could guess where he went. Bailey dawdled a bit which resulted in a restless Hayden. A restless Hayden resulted in a hollering Hayden. After ignoring several shout outs from the boy upstairs, I hollered to please wait to talk to us until we got upstairs since it was difficult to understand him from such a distance. Yes I know, that is wordy - in fairness to me I started with "Please wait!" and then ended up at the bottom of the stairs with the more verbose outburst. The whole process had grown a tad irritating until Miss Thing chimed in.
The formerly distracted dilly-dallier strutted her stuff to the bottom of the stairs and started to head on up. Then she stopped, settled her gaze on the tip top of the stair and proceeded to spew forth a distinct and less than soft speech that I have yet to decipher. Suffice it to say that her announcement was both forceful and determined. After her rant concluded she glanced my way, offered up a sly smile and quietly climbed those stairs for her diaper change.
And that is just one reason I lovingly refer to sweet Bailey as our "Chicklet with Edge"!
