Bon Apetit!

It all began with an evening struggling for enough ladies to drum up a game of Bunco. An alternate plan was in order and so it was determined that a trip to the cinema to see Julie and Julia was in order. It should be noted that this mission was deemed a public service since it could be argued that many a grumpy husband was spared an evening with this enchanting chick flick due to our group effort. And enchanted we were....

Not long afterwards we gathered for craft night. The plan was to practice our piping techniques with a lovely sunflower cupcake from Hello Cupcake!. Fresh off of our Julie and Julia high, it was suggested that we wear aprons and pearls while we made nice nice with the buttercream. This led to an intense desire for whistling while we worked... to the soundtrack that is. And so a deal was struck with my dear "banished to the upstairs" hubby to putter away on itunes while we got things rolling. Due to technical difficulties, the soundtrack took awhile to procure but a good time was had by all in our aprons and pearls. Here's a peek at the results...

Since seeing the movie and puttering about the house with the soundtrack a certain tune has been on a bit of a loop in my noggin. Apparantly I have been humming and singing a good deal, so much so that my sweet boy has picked up on said warbling and is doing the same. In fact, he sang the song to me while we strolled through the bread and produce at Kroger last week. Too sweet! Monday afternoon, I was able to coax him into making a music video with me. Again, I must plead for leniency with my emerging film skills. Who knew you couldn't turn a point and shoot for video making? Just tilt your head a bit to watch my wiggling warbler. His performance is exhuberant and joyful -- not unlike Ms. Streep's rendering of Julia. And the future Oscar goes to.....
