Ohhhh how I long to be all caught up in blogland. Alas - this will not happen today! But I can take a quick minute to post a Bailey funny.
The background is Hayden based... He really struggled to transition to solid foods and getting him to eat well has taken lots of effort from Michael, myself and for a time a feeding therapist as well. One of the things we came up with early on was prompting him to 'send the food to his tummy".
Last week Bailey was feeling extra fidgety and need encouragement to wrap things up. So we said "Send the food to your tummy Bailey!" She smiled that dazzling smile, hiked up her shirt and pressed her food onto her belly. Now how's that for obedience?
Today at the park she wanted to go off and play with the big kids but had a mouthful of food to finish. So I called after her "Bailey, finish what is in your mouth!" Clearly she didn't hear my whole prompting since she turned around and opened up to show me all of the work in progress.
I suppose there isn't a parent alive who hasn't got some choice food related stories to share!

Judging by her intellectual prowess with the tummy bit, I'm guessing this kid is probably way beyond succumbing to the 'airplane spoon coming in for a landing' approach.
ReplyDeleteThat's a little bit like the time Tim told Ethan to "keep his eye on the ball," so he actually stuck the football in his eye!
ReplyDeleteYou know ... you will have to be more specific as I can clearly see she was trying to follow directions on both accounts!
