Often when I am getting ready in the morning I am joined by the Mini's. Bailey has taken to keeping busy with a small cup of water and anything she can scrounge up to spoon it or pour it into other containers. After initial resistance, I have taken to being happy with how this little ritual keeps the Duchess of Destruction occupied.
This morning she wandered off once or twice with her little cup. No biggie, she had been taking sips and did think to bring the cup back to me....later on.
This morning she also decided to take off with my handtowel. No biggie, I'll make this a teaching moment and be sure that she is the one to return said towel.
This morning as I prepared to brush my teeth I heard a throaty-yet-girly morning voice say softly, "BoBo, I wipe you off."
Of course, I immediately called Miss Bailey in to share some vital info, we do not wipe BoBo with anything especially a damp hand towel. Then we moved on.
A few moments later, Bailey sauntered back in with her cup and quietly set it on the counter. I picked it up to rinse it off and noticed several short pieces of black fur around the edge of the cup. Gradually the pieces fell into place. My dear daughter had not wandered off to continue sipping her water solo, she had WATERED THE CAT which then created the need to wipe him off with the handtowel.
It is early enough in the day that I am still in possession of a somewhat rested sense of calm so I took her in my arms and asked nicely about her alleged cat watering activities.
"Sweetie, did you pour water on our cat?"
She made her big brown eyes somehow even bigger and solemnly nodded yes. (Now, Hayden is snickering in the background.)
"Bailey my dear, BoBo does not care for water. He will clean himself. Please be all done with putting water on him."
She nodded in agreement. Anyone want to take bets on how long that lasts?
