Here's the backstory - Monday morning H had a make up day for preschool. He woke up at least 4 different kinds of grumpy and we really stuggled getting ourselves out the door and to class. He was fine once we got there and stayed quite happily with his beloved Miss Joy and his classmates.
Fast forward to Tuesday - H wakes up perky, ready to take on the world. He was even ready to leave a bit early! I dropped my cheery child off and bid him a fond farewell as he shared his morning accomplishments with Miss Joy. Off I went with Bailey for her 2 year well visit. When we returned to pick up big bro, Joy said he was not himself that morning and his nose had started running. He hadn't felt warm to her so she decided not to call. We scooted home, scarfed some lunch and H played happily around the house chuffing trains all over the place.
That afternoon we were scheduled to have the Rozzi kidlets over to play. After consulting and comparing the state of our collective crews we decided to forge onward. I must say the kids played quite nicely together. H & Charlotte did so well I puttered in the next room for an entire half hour while they amused themselves. Then we played marble run and had a fun building snacktime with toothpicks and chunks of fruit. Listening to the kids play is one of the perks of preschoolers. It is quite neat to eavesdrop on their conversations and hear their notions about the world free of adult intervention.
Last night I had craft night with the girls so once Michael arrived at the homestead I fled the scene in search of fondue and conversation (I did at least carry a craft with me, I am totally fine with the fact that I didn't work on it...) Later Michael rang me up on the cell to see if H could take some medicine as he was beginning to feel warm. Bummer!
When I got home later that night, Michael shared this odd little occurance with me. While he and the kids were playing downstairs H asked if they could go up to his room. Once they moved their fun up to his chambers, H got in bed, covered up and announced his intention to WATCH Michael and Bailey play trains. Yikes, that's the kind of behavior that belongs in some alternate Hayden universe! He then proceeded to fall asleep while Michael put Bailey down in her room. Poor little dude.
So we are hangin' at the homestead today sipping on juice and snuggling up with a few show and some good books. We sure hope the Rozzi's escape our yuckies. I can't wait for Spring to come so we can air out these winter germs!

We hope Hadyen feels better soon! My kids haven't really been sick this winter so I figure we are due, at least we will know where it is coming from and hopefully how long it will last :)
