Fun with Flour

The last morning of Katelyn's visit we had some free time on our hands and made our own playdough. Truthfully with this method, we rarely end up with actual dough but it is still a fun was to fill the morning. Each anklebiter got a pan with a scoop of flour and salt mix. Then we colored a few small bowls of water and passed out droppers, scrapers and other tools.
Hayden loves to make rivers and lakes out of his water and gets a kick out of watching the colors mix. Bailey had some fun with a scraper (code for the cleaning tool that came with our George Foreman Grill!) and made lovely things happen with her dropper.
Cousin Katie popped around and helped both kiddos while I played some kind of mix of Raffi and Ansel Adams.
Of course, the current version of H's Magic School Bus was compelled to investigate by taking a dip. As Miss Frizzle always says, "Take Chances, Make Mistakes and Get Messy!" What a wise animated woman. Of course, I noticed she never seems to be hampered with cleaning things up after a big adventure. . .
